Tips for Gorgeous Outdoor Photos

Being outdoors in the summer sun is a great setting for some fun photos of you and your loved ones. In order to get the best results from your session, there are a few pro tips to think about or bring for your family session before you step in front of my lens!
Most Importantly... HAVE FUN with your family! Pack the patience and just enjoy some fun family time. There are no "rules" and we will capture lighthearted, relaxed fun. The hard work of getting ready for the shoot is done and now it is time to simply enjoy. We will play games, sing songs and act silly so just enjoy.
Choose your time of day. Since midday can be scorching, we can work together to plan your shoot early in the morning or just before the sun sets to capture some great lighting. However, if you have young children and early or late doesn't work for their schedule, no worries! We can adjust accordingly and work with the best time for your family. I can shoot any time of the day and find the best lighting! (The photo on the right was shot during the full midday sun!)
Bring along some tissues & concealer powder. Unless it's a cool day, you're probably going to sweat. Bring along some tissues for dabbing off the sweat and your concealer powder for touch ups.
Stay hydrated. Posing for pictures may not seem like hard work but in the hot sun, you don't have to move around much to be affected by the heat. Make sure you bring lots of water and other hydrating beverages, and drink up often.
Full Tummies! Make sure everyone in your family (or you!) are well fed and have a full tummy. Feel free to bring along a snack to help keep everyone happy and smiling.
Apply makeup sparingly. You want that fresh, sun kissed look in your photos so don’t overdo your makeup application.
What you wear matters. Choose clothing that is comfortable and fits your body shape. Feel free to incorporate accessories such as a hat but don’t let it overwhelm the photo.
