I had such a great time this past fall when I was contacted by Gaslowitz Frankel, LLC, the premier fiduciary litigation firm in Atlanta, Ga., to update their corporate headshots as well as on location photography for their website. We spent some time taking individual headshot of each of the partners and attorneys as well as group photography within their office space and around their building. We started with group images and moved around SunTrust Plaza (A GORGEOUS building in downtown Atlanta) in the lobby area and took a wide variety of shots. The background was amazing with marble walls, beautiful statues, spiral staircases and so much more! As a photographer, I was wide eyed but I also knew that i have a limited amount of time with these busy people andI would not be able to shoot in every single beautiful spot so I had to make the best of my time AND theirs! As we concluded the corporate shots of all the partners, I moved onto headshot and this is where the fun really began! My assistant, Julie and I set up a small studio in their office space and one by one they marched in. It was important to have a consistent look and backdrop for each of the headshot this firms website so we had a simple white backdrop and away we went. One might think headshot photography is simple. After all, it's just a photo, right? WRONG. So much goes into this process.... lighting, background and equipment is certainly part of it but more importantly, I think, is client interaction. People tend to become stiff in front of a camera. Not this group! They are corporate attorneys and they are hilarious!
The real conversation behind this photo between these two named partners is hilarious. It is quite surprising that I was able to hold the camera still in order to take good shot that wasn't blurry. This beautiful wood vase is handmade by Adam Gaslowitz on the left. Amazing. There were many similar pieces located within the firm.
And now for action shots... yes, he frequently reads law books while gazing out at the amazing Atlanta view from the 40 something floor of Sun Trust Plaza!! NOT! :)
These wooden bowls behind Adam "talking" on the phone are handmade by him! Ahhhhmazing!
We did not do a lot of staging in this office... we wanted real photos so this is him really workin
