I have spent a few previous summers going to Nicaragua with my church to help build bathrooms and water wells... it was always an amazing experience meeting new families from around the world, working side by side with some amazing people and helping accomplish so much for benefit of others. Well, I could not attend this year but 10 of members of my church were able to go and represent our community. As with all Missions trips, they are individually funded and the money that each person pays goes towards their flights, room, board other other personal items. In addition, each person contributes to the overall cost of materials for the task that is being completed. In this case, our church is helping construct a school. So, in order to off set costs, I hosted a Charity Photo Shoot with 100% of the fees going to the Missions Team. WE RAISED $1210!!!
Here is a note from the Missions Team Leader
Hopefully you’ve received some private messages of thanks as well but I know the entire team appreciates all of your hard work and the time you invested in this fundraising activity benefiting our Belize team. Your donation was instrumental in lowering the total cost of the trip for everyone and helped provide a larger cushion for the misc. supplies bucket which will benefit Marla’s House and used towards building supplies at the school site.
After having worked by your side in Nicaragua (twice!) I know how badly you wanted to be heading to Belize with our team. We will definitely miss that infectious smile & laughter you bring to every event as well as your amazing photography skills. I know you will be there with us in spirit.
I wish I could post all the photos but that is just impossible. However, I will share just a few of them with you here. Thanks to all these families that helped support this missions team!
